Ryan Sullivan Music

Ryan Sullivan Music

*Although he has been singing like an angel and playing guitar for close to 30 years, Ryan's path to professional musicianship has been anything but linear or traditional.  With his career aspirations thwarted by PTSD and its associated loss of self, Ryan medically retired from his job as a Police Officer in late 2020.

*Ryan began the ardous task of working to reclaim his sense of value and inner-worth, his ability to love himself and therefore, to feel and receive the love of others closest to him, most notably that of his wife and three young children.

*In 2021 Ryan underwent a routine knee surgery which was complicated by a persistent MRSA infection and septic arthritis, requiring numerous hospitalizations staged surgeries over the course of 2 years, that resulted in loss of native knee and left femoral nerve paralysis.

*Being laid up for years and becoming permanently disabled did not help with Ryan's endeavor to reclaim his lost sense of worth or purpose.

*It did, however, help with his guitar chops. A LOT.

*If only there were a way to turn his passion for music performance into a career….

*In 2024 The Limb Lab in Rochester, MN helped Ryan obtain an orthotic brace called Icarus Hercules (powerful name, right?)  which is helping him resume some of his old mischievous ways.

*Ryan is just getting this thang' moving again, join along for the ride!

Bruce Archer

Bruce Archer

Bruce Archer plays a primitive Americana infused with blues, bluegrass, folk, and rock influences. His fingerstyle and slide guitar merge his 40+ years of playing a mixture of genres, his Iowa roots, and his years in the Minneapolis alt-rock scene. The results are instrumental and vocal performances that are both gritty and authentic.

Archer's career has taken him from open mic nights in college, through forming, performing in and writing for bands that regularly played high profile alt-music clubs in Uptown, Downtown and West Bank Minneapolis, to returning to performing solo in the north woods of Minnesota. He's enjoyed playing with some top-notch musicians as well as sharing the bill with such notables as Corey Medina & Brothers, Charlie Parr, The Jimmys, Cactus Blossoms, legendary bass guitarist Ronnie Lane (Small Faces), the Uppity Blues Women, the Jayhawks, the Gear Daddies’ frontman Martin Zellar, the Phones, and Run Westy Run.

Through it all, he has relied on his Iowa roots and sense of who he is, bringing a raw authenticity to his performances.

Masterful finger-picking and slide guitar punctuate the highly autobiographical lyrics of Archer’s album THE HALLOWED LAND. This eclectic, sometimes rollicking, sometimes reflective, genre-bending album is a paean to traditional storytelling. Look for it on Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, and other streaming services as well as www.brucearchermusic.com.
